Police say eight people were arrested at a LSU football game in Baton Rouge on Saturday because of a background check on third-party vendors.
According to the LSU Police Department, all eight people had outstanding warrants. Two were from New Orleans, one from Jefferson Parish and the rest from East Baton Rouge.
LSUPD began screening all third-party vendors through an electronic background check service last year. During the first home game of the 2017 season, five vendors were arrested on outstanding felony warrants.
The policy was added in a joint effort between LSU Athletics and LSUPD to “enhance game day operations,” officials said.
LSU uses a credential form to screen third-party vendors before an on-campus event and automatically disqualifies those with violent felonies or outstanding warrants.
